- Case Study: Building Conversion in Wiltshire
Case Study
An existing agricultural building in Wiltshire has been successfully converted into two dwellings under Part 3 Class Q of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) (“the GDPO”).
This was the result of an extensive structural appraisal of the existing building’s superstructure in terms of its acceptable level of strength and robustness necessary to take the loadings required for its proposed new residential chapter of use, without the need for new structural elements to be provided.
This case study is also an example of how an agricultural building which has now been converted can be suitably adapted for habitation with the use of rooflights and clear glazed panels creating an attractive and modern aesthetic.
