Working closely with the project architect; Guy Davies Architects LPC (Trull) Ltd are very pleased to have achieved planning permission for the erection of a new dwelling within Bath’s Conservation Area and World Heritage Site designation. The development proposal, as submitted was discussed at length with the Council’s planning officer and as a result of the detailed engagement undertaken a revised set of plans were agreed to maintained the neighbour’s trees and privacy, and ensure the new dwelling made the efficient use of the urban garden land in question, without harm to the currently open aspect and character and appearance of site and wider setting. The fact the planning officer was willing to be engaged and thus carefully defined the parameters that would be acceptable meant the land owner has obta9ned a valuable result, using a salient of land not closely related to the host dwelling, and reflecting the new NPPF’s more positive starting point.
