Planning permission has been granted for the subdivision of a large property in Cranham into two separate dwellings. As confirmed at paragraph 80 d) of the NPPF (2021) the subdivision of an existing residential building represents a sustainable form of development which establishes the principle in this case. All other matters, including the provision for parking and adequate outdoor amenity space were addressed as part of this application, and Officers concluded that there would be no effect on the character and appearance of the area.
The subdivision of an existing dwelling can maximise the potential of a plot, whether this is located within an existing settlement or in the open countryside. For further information please contact one of our professional team.
